Top Hat Theatre in Ulen will soon begin its 10th season of the performing arts, featuring eight outstanding shows.

“We are really pleased with the exceptional performers we will be featuring during our upcoming season,” said Therese Vogel, executive director of the Top Hat Theatre.

“Our committee is very pleased to be celebrating the beginning of our 10th season of the performing arts. When we started in 2005, we had no idea what to expect for community support. It has been amazing to receive the support through the years from businesses, organizations, and especially our many faithful patrons who always purchase season tickets and attend the shows.”

Opening night, set for Saturday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m., will feature the Sawtooth Bluegrass Band from the Twin Cities.

With two sets of musical brothers, Sawtooth Bluegrass melds the sounds of the original bluegrass masters with the fresh sounds of today. For more information, please visit

Other shows this season will include Celtic sensations Ring of Kerry on Saturday, Oct. 11; classical and jazz ensemble The Boston Brass on Monday, Nov. 10; the Robert Robinson Holiday Show on Dec. 13; the comedy of Stevie Ray on Saturday, Jan. 10; the music of singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Barbara Jean (and her band) on Saturday, Feb. 7; classical pop trio Simply Three on Saturday, March 21; and the season finale, featuring a capella sensations Street Corner Renaissance — hailing all the way from Los Angeles, Calif. – on Saturday, May 9.

“As Top Hat Theatre has continued to grow and expand, we are able to offer an exceptional 10th season,” Vogel said.

“Both the Boston Brass and Street Corner Renaissance groups will be working with our high school students and performing a public concert. It is very exciting for us to be able to bring in performers from other parts of the United States for everyone to enjoy!”

With the exception of Boston Brass, which is a Monday show, all Top Hat shows will be held on Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., inside the Barry J. Houglum Auditorium at the Ulen-Hitterdal School in Ulen.
