• Artist Reception: 3 to 6 p.m., New York Mills Regional Cultural Center, 24 Main Ave. N., New York Mills. Reception for exhibits "Happenchance" and "Paper Plains," rescheduled from Dec. 11, will feature an opportunity to meet Twin Cities-based artists Laura Andrews, Suzanne Murphy, Heather Humbert (Price) and Jennifer Totoritis-Searl, the creators of "Happenchance," as well as "Paper Plains" artist Brian Jorgenson of Minneapolis. • "Rock Day" Demonstration: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Hjemkomst Center, 202 First Ave. N., Moorhead. The Northern Prairie Fiber Artists will be demonstrating the art of spinning and other fiber arts in the atrium of the Hjemkomst Center in observance of St. Distaff Day or "Rock Day," a celebration of daily chores, such as spinning, held after the 12 days of Christmas.
