Slipknot cancels shows, including Fargo date
Due to an illness in the group, the heavy metal band Slipknot has canceled all August and September shows, including a Sept. 3 concert at the Fargodome.
The group's record label, Roadrunner Records, announced the cancellations on Monday.
According to newspaper reports, drummer Joey Jordison was hospitalized Saturday shortly before the band was to play a show in Seattle.
Slipknot singer Corey Taylor addressed the crowd, calling the situation "a severe medical emergency," though offering no further explanation.
Taylor urged the Seattle fans to hold on to tickets "because we are coming back to do this," he said.
The Roadrunner site said fans with tickets should check with promoters about refund information.
The local promoter, Jade Presents, which had five upcoming dates on the tour, can be reached at (701) 298-0071 or www.jadepresents.com.
This was the second blow on the tour. Earlier this month opener Anthrax dropped off the bill after parting ways with its singer.
