High Plains Fest on hiatus for 2012

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. - Not yet a year old, the High Plains Festival is on hiatus.

The music event, which last July featured Trampled by Turtles, 4ontheFloor and other regional roots rock acts, is taking a year off due to facility upgrades at Soo Pass Ranch, outside of Detroit Lakes, Minn.

Soo Pass also hosts WE Fest, which celebrates its 30th year in August. Up-dates to the Barn Stage area and Ranch House Patio include large men and women's bathrooms in and a permanent roof structure over the Barn Stage to allow for larger shows.

A press release from the High Plains Fest stated: "We very much appreciate your support and understanding and hope to see you in 2013!"
