Workshop at 7:30 p.m., followed by square dancing from 8 to 10 p.m. The caller will be Abe Maier and Donna Stone will cue round dancing between tips. Friendly Squares members will furnish a potluck dinner following the dance. All square dancers and spectators are welcome.

• First City Ethnic Arts Festival: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Hungry Bear Banquet and Conference Center, 2300 24th St. NW, Bemidji. The event is free and open to the public. Hosted by Gallery North Art Gallery and the Northern Artists Association, the event will offer a little bit of fun for young and old.
