WWII drama plays at NYM
Pippa White will present three performances of "Voices from the Resistance" at the ITOW Veterans Museum in Perham on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13.
"Voices from the Resistance" is a one-woman drama that tells the true stories of five resistance fighters in WWII.
They were ordinary people who risked their lives every day to do what they could to bring down the Nazi regime. The stories of helping Jews escape, distributing anti-Nazi propaganda, and even guerilla warfare are fascinating, inspiring and true.
The National Endowment for the Humanities who funded this exhibit encouraged each host site to add program that add new dimensions to the exhibit.
Pippa White's production is suitable for a wide range of audiences, from history buffs to students to families with older children.
This engagement is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest, generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts with additional contributions from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
"Voices from the Resistance" will be presented on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.
Thanks to a grant from Arts Midwest, the Saturday matinee at 3 p.m. is free to seniors. Complimentary tickets are also available to veterans for all performances. Complimentary tickets should be reserved in advance.
