Carol M. Erickson, 62, of Lake Park, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 14, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Carol Mae Samuelson was born to Albert and Gladys (Oftelie) Samuelson on December 25, 1946 in Lake Park. She grew up, attended school, and graduated from Lake Park High School.
On December 14, 1963, Carol married Daniel Erickson in Lake Park, and together they started a family. For more than 30 years, Carol worked for Sherbrooke Sodding, now known as Sherbrooke Turf. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and cooking, but most of all she was a caring person who loved spending time with family and being “Grandma.” She will be dearly missed.
Surviving Carol are her husband, Danny; children, DeWonna (Randy) Jenson of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Darwin (Wendy) Erickson of Waseca, Minn.; grandchildren, Aaron, Devon, Clay, Andee and Alee; brother, Albert (Susan) Samuelson of Aitkin, Minn.; and sister, LaVaun (Greg) Sahlberg of West Fargo.
Preceding Carol in death were her parents; sisters, Hjordis and JoAnne Grani; and grandson, Austen.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday, November 19, at Cormorant Lutheran Church, rural Lake Park, with interment in Cormorant Lutheran Church Cemetery. A guestbook and video tribute are available at www.wrightfuneral.com.
