Noris Evenson

Noris J. Evenson, 80, of St. Michael, Minn., passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, Minn. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30 in Life in Christ Lutheran Church, Albertville, Minn. There will be visitation for one hour prior to services at the church.

Noris J. Evenson, 80, of St. Michael, Minn., passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, Minn.

Noris John Evenson was born the son of Noris and Dora (Keil) Evenson on March 4, 1929 in Mora, Minn. He honorably served in the United States Army in Korea. He was wounded in action and received a Purple Heart.

On May 27, 1955, Noris Evenson and Sally Bedore were joined in holy marriage in Mora. God blessed their marriage with two children.

Noris was once employed at Swift and Company in South Saint Paul and later in Denver. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, gardening and loved flowers.

Noris is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sally Evenson; children, Brad Evenson and Nori Jo Johansen, both of Denver, Colo.; two brothers: Vernon (Betty) Evenson of Remer and Richard (Mary) Evenson of Mora; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; and many friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four sisters, Doris Sizer, Dorothy Freeman, Billie Reed and Shirley Paulson; and by a brother, David Evenson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30 in Life in Christ Lutheran Church, Albertville, Minn. There will be visitation for one hour prior to services at the church.

The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home is serving the family.
