Harlin Wetzel
Harlin Wetzel, 78, of Vergas, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at his lake home near Vergas. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Detroit Lakes, with Rev. Conrad Vine, pastor officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date in the Wishek City Cemetery in Wishek.

Harlin Wetzel, 78, of Vergas, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at his lake home near Vergas.
Harlin was born the son of Henry and Emilia (Bader) Wetzel on December 9, 1931 near Wishek, N.D. He grew up on the family farm and received his education in Wishek and LeMars, Iowa.
Harlin married Dorothy Freier August 28, 1960 in Streeter, N.D. They farmed near Wishek until 1976, when they moved to Hunter, N.D. They retired in 1999. They then moved to their retirement home on Long Lake near Vergas.
Harlin was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Detroit Lakes. He and Dorothy recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Harlin loved his five grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, a dear friend to many and a devout Christian who loved life and the Lord.
Surviving Harlin are his wife Dorothy; three daughters, Carla (Allan) Funk of Eagan, Minn., Darcy Wetzel of Eagan and Vickie (Greg) Doeden of Moorhead; one son, Wylie (Mindy) Wetzel of Woodbury, Minn.; four granddaughters, Emily, Olivia, Margaret and Katherine; and one grandson, Taylor.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his only brother, Arnold; and only sister, Luella Rudolf.
