Shouldn’t WE Fest be part of Holmes Spun Theatre?
Regarding the Holmes Spun Theatre, I am really surprised and let down that the WE Fest is not included in the “History of Detroit Lakes.” It is a major part of putting DL on the map with all the stars and the good news from the fest! Shame on you guys!

After four years of working on the project, Danika Leitheiser has completed the third and final installment of the Kiddie Land prints. “I hadn’t mapped out how the first two were going to look, and people were requesting it, asking where it was, and I figured I’d fit it in,” Leitheiser said of the Big Slipper that appears in the third drawing.

process aims for best use of resources: County rec plan passes
After making some relatively minor changes, the Becker County Board approved the new county recreation plan on Tuesday. The recreational plan includes an inventory of resources and a multi-layer online map. It sets up a process for the county to handle often-heated recreational proposals — anything from a walking trail, to a horse-riding trail, to an old-growth preserve, to an ATV trail.

Stormchasers is a book to put on radar
You can’t tear yourself away from the TV. No, it’s not the season finale of your favorite show, or another shock-talk fluff piece you’re watching. This is something much more important. You’re watching reds and oranges swirl around a map of your area like a toddler’s finger paints. But this is not playtime: radar tells you what you need to know to stay safe from bad weather, and you can’t tear yourself away.
