The recent streak of unseasonably warm weather helped Grand Forks and Fargo set new records Monday. Grand Forks recorded a new record high of 49 degrees, while thermometers in Fargo climbed to a new record of 51 degrees.

The National Weather Service in Duluth confirmed late Saturday that a tornado touched down near Solon Springs during the severe storms that moved across the region Friday night. It's the first strong tornado to hit the county in more than 30 years.
