Nelson makes honors list at Vermillion
Jacob Nelson of Lake Park made the honors list at Vermillion Community College in Ely.
To qualify for honors, a student must have a grade point average of at least 3.0.

Voeltz admitted to NDSU for fall 2010
Paul Voeltz, son of Brian and Coleen Voeltz, Detroit Lakes, has been admitted to North Dakota State University “with distinction.” He will enter NDSU in the fall of 2010 and plans to major in engineering. Distinction means that NDSU is acknowledging Voeltz as an honor student.

Local student earns degree at U-Wisconsin
Nicholas Schroeder of Detroit Lakes has earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Degrees were conferred by Chancellor Julius Erlenbach at the university’s Winter Commencement ceremony held Dec. 19, 2009.

Henke on dean’s list at St. Olaf College
James May, Dean and Provost of St. Olaf College, named Lauren Henke from Detroit Lakes to the St. Olaf College Dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester. The Dean’s list recognizes St. Olaf students with a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4-point scale.

Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall announces that Kayla Lang, daughter of Marlene Lang of Detroit Lakes, has been selected to receive an Oscar and Cora Sather Presidential Scholarship, an SMSU Mentoring Award and leadership scholarships for the 2010-11 academic year.
