Australians take cars out for spin Five Australians visited Detroit Lakes. They are friends of David and Narelle Druitt also from Australia, and members of Detroit Lakes Breakfast Rotary Club. After the Tuesday morning meeting they were given the opportunity to experience and drive two American Muscle Cars. They drove the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS with 400 horsepower and the Chevrolet Corvette Convertible with 430 horsepower. They were accompanied by Rodney Brend and David Otte, salespeople at Nereson Chevrolet.

South Washington Avenue near Pavilion closed Saturday morning for triathlon PressPass

Due to the Young Life Triathlon, South Washington Avenue from Lake Street to North Shore Drive (in front of the Pavilion) will be closed to through traffic from 6 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 21, according to the Detroit Lakes Street Department.
