Tad Isaac Butcher, 26, of 1060 West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes has been charged in Becker County District court with two felony counts of domestic assault by strangulation.

Donald Eugene DeGroat Jr., 26, of 722 Main, Mahnomen has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony terroristic threats. According to court records, on July 16 Detroit Lakes police officers were dispatched to an apartment house on Minnesota Avenue.

Joseph Adam Crowell, 19, of 48636 Highway 225, Ponsford has been sentenced for felony second- and third-degree burglary. Charges of felony first- and third-degree burglary were dropped in a plea agreement.

CEO responds to nursing home death caused by wrong meds Investigators from the Minnesota Department of Health concluded Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena neglected three residents by giving them the wrong medication or administering medication at the wrong time, leading to the death of one of them. A spokesman for the nursing home said a human error was made, medication disbursement procedures have been changed and the home’s changes recently resulted in high marks on an inspection.
