The Frazee Lady Hornet girls’ basketball team opened up the Walker Christmas Tournament Tuesday and behind a strong second half performance, defeated Nevis 77-58 to advance to the semifinals of the tournament.

FRAZEE B-BALL: Hornets can’t finish comeback
A 23-5 second half run by the Frazee boys’ basketball team almost turned into an upset of the visiting Mahnomen Indians Thursday in the Hornets’ season opener.
The Hornets rallied to tie the score after being down by 18 points with their 23-5 run, which was capped when Frazee’s Matt Tangen nailed a three pointer to tie the game at 47-47.

The Frazee Lady Hornets had a tough week as they faced Heart O’Lakes Conference stalwarts Hawley and Pelican Rapids, losing to both.
The Lady Hornets had a tough time finding the hoop Tuesday, Dec. 6, as the defending Heart O’Lakes Conference champion Hawley Nuggets put the clamps down on Frazee in a 48-14 victory.

Frazee and LP-A players to play in all-star volleyball game in Bagley
There will be a heavy contingent of Lake Park-Audubon players in the Seventh Annual Central All-Star games Saturday, Nov. 19, in Bagley.
Three Raiders were selected to play in the all-star game, while LP-A head coach Mike Summers will be coaching the Maroon team as well.

FRAZEE FOOTBALL: No. 3 Warroad ends No. 7 Hornets’ playoff hopes
Despite piling up nearly 400 yards of offense, the Frazee football team lost in Warroad 47-18 in the Section 8-2A quarterfinals Tuesday.
The No. 6 Hornets were beset by the injury bug in the second half, after losing starting quarterback Baxter Bachmann and starting tailback Cody Piper, who rushed for a game-high 148 yards on 23 carries.

Frazee, Perham volleyball teams raise over $2,800 for Hospice
The Frazee and Perham varsity girls’ volleyball teams raised $2,854 for Hospice of the Red River Valley in memory of Gaylene Smith.
The teams have a tradition of raising money at the annual Frazee-Perham match. This year’s match was held on Oct. 4, with all events incorporated with Frazee¹s homecoming.

Lady Hornets take win over Ashby with all-around game
The Frazee Lady Hornet softball team hosted the 8-1 Ashby Arrows Monday, and treated the home crowd to a 9-2 win.
The Lady Hornets played an all-around solid game to gain the win.
Frazee jumped off to an early lead in the first inning, as Alexis Tappe had a single and stole second, then eventually scored on a Kari Shipman sacrifice fly.
