Great run for Laker basketball 
Cheers to the Lakers boys basketball team for a great season — the team went to the state tournament for the first time since 1918.
Coach Robb Flint deserves a high-five for his fine efforts in getting them there.
The team ran into a buzzsaw in its first tournament game against No. 2 seeded DeLaSalle on Wednesday, but Detroit Lakes players should hold their heads high — they had an excellent season and were a class act all the way.
They set the bar higher for a whole new generation of basketball-loving kids.
