Two students to study abroad this summer

More than 120 Concordia College, Moorhead, students are studying in Summer School Abroad Programs, May Seminars, Summer Field Study Programs and Semester Abroad programs offered through Global Learning at Concordia.

Two of those students hail from Detroit Lakes and Frazee.

Melody Peterson, Detroit Lakes, will participate in Summer School Abroad, studying abnormal psychology in the UK. She is a senior.

Makenzi Kovar, Frazee, will be participating in May Programs, studying theater in Europe, beginning in Greece and ending in England. She is a senior.

The May Seminars and Summer School Abroad programs are designed to enhance learning, and include on-campus courses and an off-campus travel seminar led by Concordia faculty. The courses contain background information necessary to understand and appreciate the travel experience of various countries and academic disciplines.

The Summer Field Studies programs are small, investigative, faculty-led study seminars. They offer an opportunity for original inquiry in lesser-traveled settings. It is intended especially for students who want to practice connecting across cultures under new and occasionally challenging conditions. Seminars depart in May and are typically one month long.

Semester Abroad programs offer students the ability to understand the complexity and depth of another culture by living and studying in another country in programs that go beyond the average abroad experience at institutions in partnership with Concordia.
