AA and Al-Anon potluck, open speaker meeting: An evening of food, fellowship and fun, this meeting, which is open to the public, is at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. The potluck starts at 6 p.m. (please bring a dish to share), and at 7 p.m. members share the experience, strength, and hope that led them to a "new freedom". Healthy Living Seminar: Spirit, Soul and Body, this seminar will be featuring speaker Bibby Cummings of GSI on the spirit, Sally Stiele of New Freedom Ministries on the soul and Beth Ley Knotts of NHL Ministries on the body. Hospice of the RRV grief program for youth: Hospice of the Red River Valley is offering a free youth grief retreat for youth, ages 6 to 18, who have lost a loved one. The program will provide youth an opportunity to participate in grief support activities, share stories, create memory keepsakes and receive support from their peers. Parents/guardians are also required to attend a portion of the day. Snacks will be provided. The youth grief retreat is free, but pre-screening and pre-registration are required. Ages 5-9 are from 9 a.m. to noon, ages 10 and up are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hospice of the Red River Valley building. Preschool screening: Preschool screening for 3-5 year olds for the Frazee-Vergas district is provided through Becker County Community Health Services. Minnesota law requires each child attend a health and developmental screening before kindergarten.
