Felony theft charge filed for Walmart shoplifting
Amber Leigh Guinn, 21, of Cass Lake has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony theft.
According to court records, at 3:50 a.m. on Dec. 11, 2016 she and a man entered the Detroit Lakes Walmart. She selected several video games (with a total value of $483) before going into the bathroom. She met up with the man and they left without paying for the merchandise. Walmart security became of aware of the theft by viewing surveillance video, but were not able to identify the couple at that time.
On May 17 the two allegedly struck again, leaving the Detroit Lakes Walmart via the garden department door, loading $613 worth of stolen goods into a car, and leaving the scene.
On June 23, District Judge Joe Evans issued a summons for Guinn to appear in court on July 10.
