Color Guard Breakfast: The Lake Region Veterans Color Guard will be hosting a breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Club. Suggested donation is $7 for a meal including scrambled eggs; pancakes or French toast; and sausage or bacon, plus beverage.

Square Dance for Heart: The annual Square Dance for Heart, benefiting the American Heart Association, will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. inside the Waubun Community Center. All dancers, callers and cuers welcome.

Wildlife Movie: Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge will host a 2 p.m. screening of the movie "Animal Homes: The Nest," inside the Visitor's Center, located at 35704 Co. Hwy. 26, Rochert. Bird nests come in all shapes and sizes, crafted from a diversity of materials. Take a journey around the world, where birds arrive at diverse nesting grounds to collect, compete for, reject, steal, and begin to build homes for the all-important task of protecting their eggs and raising their young. Old-Time Variety Dance: Eric's Dance Band will provide the music for an Old-Time Variety Dance, set to take place from 1-4 p.m. at the White Pine Room in Frazee. A potluck supper will follow the dance. Admission is $5 per person.

Brown Bag Lunch: Columnist, author and owner of Bergeson's Nursery, Eric Bergeson, will give a free lunchtime presentation about "Successful Gardening on the Northern Prairie," starting at noon inside the Becker County Museum, 714 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes. Community Forum: Join other interested local residents for a community presentation on "Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences: Building Self-Healing Communities," followed by a facilitated group discussion. ELCA Women's Spring Gathering: The Women of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) are invited to a Conference 6 Spring Gathering at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1401, Madison Ave., Detroit Lakes. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m.; cost is $10 per person, including lunch. The theme for the conference is "Kids in Foster Care," based on the Bible verse from 2 Chronicles 7:14. Michelle Johnson and Eric Jepson will present the program.

Eagles Stag & Doe: The Past Presidents of the Detroit Lakes Eagles Aerie 2342 will be hosting their 18th Annual Eagles Stag & Doe from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Eagles Club, located at 112 Holmes St. West, Detroit Lakes. The evening includes a 10 gun raffle and a catered roast beef dinner with drinks (domestic beers and rail drinks). Meal/drink tickets are $25 each, and raffle tickets will be sold separately, also for $25 each. Only 200 tickets will be sold for the raffle, which will benefit local charities and community needs. Tickets are available at the Eagles Club, Lakes Sports Shop, and from Eagles Aerie past presidents and officers.

Holy Rosary Spring Interlude: The 17th Annual Holy Rosary Spring Interlude will take place inside the Historic Holmes Theatre Ballroom, 826 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes. Titled "Dinner, Cocktails & A Cause," the event will feature raffles, auctions, student art displays, and a grand prize drawing for $1,000 cash. There will also be a ceremony to honor this year's Legacy Award recipient, Sam Mattioli. The event begins with a 5 p.m. social hour, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. program. Potato Dumpling Dinner: First Lutheran Church of Detroit Lakes will be hosting a potato dumpling dinner in the church dining room from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12, and free for children age 4 and under. The menu will feature potato dumplings or a baked potato, ham, coleslaw, rolls and dessert. Proceeds will benefit the church's kitchen/dining room renovation project.

Spring Bingo Games: St. Theodore's Catholic Church, located between Pine Point/Ponsford and Osage, will host spring bingo games starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Parish Kateri Guild Hall. There will be 20 games and 20 winners, with each receiving a prize of a ham or comparable meat package, followed by a final, coverall game, with the winner receiving a complete dinner box. A free lunch will be served, and a variety of door prizes will also be awarded throughout the afternoon. All are invited to attend

Fish Fry: Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, located just north of Callaway at the corner of State Highway 59 and County Highway 14, will host a fish fry from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is a free will donation. For more information please call 218-375-2786.

Shepherd of the Lakes Sunday Worship: Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church (LCMC) is now hosting Sunday worship services in Suite 15 of the Washington Square Mall, 808 Washington Ave., Detroit Lakes, starting at 10 a.m. each Sunday. Fellowship with coffee and rolls will follow the service.

TOPS 1251 of Lake Park meets every Tuesday at the Lake Park Lutheran Church, with weigh-in starting at 12 noon, followed by the meeting at 12:30. L.A. Moms group: Lakes Area (L.A.) Moms is designed to nurture every mother. At our L.A. Moms group, you will have a chance to socialize with other moms, hear some great teaching, have discussion time and participate in creative activities. L.A. Community Alliance Church programs: Community Alliance Church, Detroit Lakes, hosts Quilting for Missions Mondays at 9:30 a.m.; The first Tuesday of every month is High Mileage (suggested ages 55 and up), which meets for "pot-blessing" meal at noon, followed by special music and a Bible nugget.

Bone Builders: An exercise class for seniors called "Bone Builders" is being held at 405 W. Maple Ave. in Frazee, Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m.; the Lake Park City Center every Tuesday and Friday at 10:15 a.m.; and also at the Vergas Event Center, Thursdays at 9:30.a.m. The group focuses on low-impact and balance exercises.

Alzheimer's Support Group: Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m. in the Yoga Studio at Ecumen Detroit Lakes.

Dunvilla Lions Club: The Dunvilla Lions Club will meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Dunn Township Hall.

Free hot meal: Stop into the Refuge every Thursday and Friday evening for a hot meal served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. The Refuge is located at 921 8th Street SE in Detroit Lakes.

The Caring Cup: Every second and last Wednesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., community members who are dealing with the loss of a loved one meet at the David-Donehower Funeral Home for friendship, support and encouragement. The free program is open to the public, no registration necessary.

Women's Domestic Violence Education Support Group: Lakes Crisis & Resource Center hosts a Women's Domestic Violence Education Support Group every Wednesday from 5:30—6:30 p.m. in the crisis center. Call to pre-register at 218-847-8572 or 218-847-7446. Childcare is available upon request.

Rummikub, more games: Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., come to Holy Rosary fireplace room for coffee, desserts and a game of cards, board games or Rummikub. Everyone is welcome.

BC Senior Meals: Meals for persons 60 and older are served several times each week at nutrition sites in Detroit Lakes, Lake Park, Osage and Wolf Lake or can be delivered directly to homes in these communities, Frazee and Callaway, via the Meals on Wheels program. One-day advance notice of attendance is required at many sites. Preschool screening: Preschool screening for 3-5 year olds for the Frazee-Vergas district is provided through Becker County Community Health Services. Call Annie at 218-847-5628 ext. 5419 to make an appointment. This one screening will provide your child the requirements for Early Childhood Screening. Minnesota law requires each child attend a health and developmental screening before kindergarten.

Senior Center Activities: The DL Senior Citizens Center has activities all month long. Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. is Pinochle; at 1 p.m. there will be 500 and other games. Whist is played on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. The third Wednesday of each month will be a celebration of birthdays for the month. The second Monday of each month there will be a Site Council meeting at 11 a.m. For more information, call 847-5823.

Bingo for DL Hockey: The DL Youth Hockey organization holds Bingo every Sunday at Zorbaz in support of youth hockey in Detroit Lakes. All are welcome; Bingo starts at 6 p.m.

Eagles Pinochle: Every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. there will be pinochle at the Eagles Club located at 112 West Holmes Street in Detroit Lakes. Members, guests and friends welcome. For questions call Gordy Martinson at 218-841-2940.
