Man appears for pipe theft at RDO Farms

Joshua Howard Bungert, 23, of 924 SE Elm Ave., Menahga appeared in Hubbard County District Court March 31 on charges of third degree burglary and theft.

The complaint states that on Jan. 25 the sheriff's office investigator met with the manager of RDO Farms regarding an employee theft.

Surveillance video of the maintenance building from Jan. 15 showed Bungert enter the building approximately two hours after his shift ended and leave carrying a large metal pipe.

Bungert did not have permission to be in the building on that date and time and did not have permission to take any contents from the building.

It was reported that tools and gasoline have been missing from the building dating back to November 2007.

When a deputy met with Bungert, Bungert provided him with a set of Gear brand wrenches, a socket set, a 15-foot pipe and a 4-foot aluminum shaft.

The burglary charge carries a maximum of five years in jail and/or a $10,000 fine. Maximum on the theft charge is 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.

He appeared before District Judge Paul Rasmussen.
