DL man charged with DWI and driving after his license was revoked
Eric Christopher Bakke, 27, of 12699 270th Ave., Detroit Lakes has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony driving while impaired -- test refusal, and gross misdemeanor driving after his license was canceled.
About 1 a.m. on April 5 deputies were called to a residence on County Road 29 on a trespassing complaint. They failed to find a trespasser and were parked at Curley's bar talking when they saw a vehicle leave the residence they had just checked for trespassing. It had one headlight out and when the vehicle was pulled over the driver, Bakke, appeared intoxicated. He refused testing and said "take me to jail," according to court records.
He has 22 previous violations for driving after his license was withdrawn, and for DWI and test refusal, according to court records.
He appeared April 7 before District Judge Peter Irvine, who set bond at $15,000 and set his next court date for April 21.
