Adam Lee Triggs, 33, of 401 Northshore Drive, Detroit Lakes has been charged in Becker County District Court with five drug-related charges for allegedly selling methamphetamines.

He is charged with three felony counts of second-degree controlled substance crime, sale; one felony count of third-degree controlled substance crime, sale; and one count of theft of property, public funds, not more than $500.

On Sept. 12, he allegedly sold just under a gram of meth (.9 grams) to a confidential reliable informant for $100. The transaction allegedly occurred at Triggs' home, which is located in both a school zone and a park zone, according to court records.

On Sept. 19, he allegedly sold .7 grams of meth to the informant for $100, and again on Sept. 24 he allegedly sold .4 grams of meth to the informant for $100.

On Sept. 28, he and the informant allegedly made plans for Triggs to go to South Dakota to buy an ounce of meth.

The informant gave him a total of $1,560 in drug buy money from the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force, but he never made the trip to South Dakota. He eventually gave all but $360 back to the informant, according to court records.

He was arraigned Monday before District Judge Mark Hansen, who set bond at $20,000, with conditions, and set his next court appearance for June 2.
