Nursing program students receive pins

Seventeen students received the Northland Community and Technical College's nursing pin during a May 14 ceremony at Imabamenimaag, the Nursing Education Building in Mahnomen.

The students are part of the NCTC Associate Degree Nursing program in conjunction with the White Earth Tribal and Community College. These students participated in clinicals at First Care Medical Service Fosston. The Colleges perceive this lovely tradition as a very meaningful and important rite-of-passage into the profession of nursing.

The nursing pin is unique to each nursing school and has been the symbol of nursing programs. Students pinned were Chrissy Brenna, Christi Boit, Christine Tunder, Evette Fox, Janet Vant Hul, Jennifer Bjerke, Joyce Guenther, Judy Harder, Kay Schreiner, Mary Marquis, Sandra Kier, Sara Hunt, Tammy Carlsrud, Teresa Werpy, Terri Bergerson, Virginia Proudfoot and Cathy Lochrie.

Northland Community and Technical College is a comprehensive college with campuses in East Grand Forks and Thief River Falls.

One- and two-year degrees, transfer programs and diploma certification are available in a variety of majors, as well as workforce training and continuing education programs.
