Man sentenced for burglary
Jesse Lafe Evans Jr., 20, of 6008 Facility Court Drive, NW, Unit 3, Cass Lake has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony second-degree burglary of a dwelling.
On March 31, a rural Park Rapids man reported a burglary. Investigation revealed that on March 28 Evans had entered the residence and stolen two 4-pound jars containing coins, with a total value of about $500, according to court records.
He pleaded guilty June 6 and was sentenced Wednesday by District Judge Joe Evans to 23 months in prison, execution of sentence stayed 10 years.
He was placed on supervised probation and ordered to serve 90 days in jail. He was fined $1,000 plus court fees and ordered to pay $750 in restitution. He is to have no contact with the victim and must get a chemical use assessment and follow the recommendations.
