Ogema man faces two felony DWI charges
Robert John Thompson, 35, of 34754 County Road 143, Ogema has been charged with two felony first-degree DWI counts in Becker County District Court.
At 1:41 a.m. on July 14 a White Earth police officer was dispatched to Dump Road, south of White Earth Village on a complaint about a vehicle leaving Barry's Bar.
The officer located the white Ford Thunderbird coming towards him, and activated his squad car emergency lights, at which point the car sped up, turned a corner, stopped abruptly, and the driver begin walking away. He came back at the officer's command, according to court records. His blood alcohol level allegedly tested at .15 percent two hours later. His license was canceled as inimical to public safety.
He appeared Monday before District Judge Waldemar B. Senyk, who set cash bail or bond at $20,000, without conditions (except making all court appearances) or $14,000 with conditions that include staying out of bars and not drinking or doing drugs.
His next court appearance was set for Aug. 4.
