Corbett Road to open Tuesday,

Highway 10 construction crews will not be working on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1.

Highway 10 mainline

Single lane closures between the Canadian Pacific railroad bridge and Summit Avenue continue this week. Crews will remove the temporary crossover, and place the curb along the inside and outside lanes.

Crews removed the temporary crossover at the east end of the project and paved turn lanes last week. Motorists should watch for crews working on the shoulders at the east end this week.

Highway 10/Highway 59 intersection

Crews finished the corrective work at this intersection. Motorists should use caution driving through the intersection until the temporary pavement markings are replaced with permanent pavement markings, which is scheduled for sometime this week.

Frontage Road

Crews are reconstructing a new frontage road between Frazee Street and East Shore Drive. Access to frontage road businesses will be maintained at all times.

Crews continue to work on the north lanes of the frontage road between McKinley Avenue and Jackson Avenue. They will finish installing the storm sewer and begin grading and placing gravel this week. Two-lane, two-way traffic is being maintained through this area.

The Corbett Road access to Highway 10 is closed through Tuesday. When the Corbett Road access opens, the Jackson Avenue access to Highway 10 will close to allow crews to work on removals and grading in that area. Motorists should follow the signed detour.

The frontage road between North Shore Drive and East Shore Drive is closed to motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians. During this time crews will reconstruct the boat landing and overlook area, build two retaining walls between the frontage road and Big Detroit Lake, work on the new bike trail and construct the East Shore Drive/frontage road intersection. Motorists should use Highway 10 to get around the Big Detroit Lake.

McKinley Avenue

The intersection of the Frontage Road and McKinley Avenue is closed. Storm sewer installation continues this week, and grading and gravel placement are scheduled for this week. When sewer and water utilities are installed the roadway will open with a gravel surface.

County Road 54

The southbound lane of County Road 54 north of the railroad crossing will be closed for approximately two days late next week while crews perform pavement removal, grading and gravel placement operations. Southbound motorists should use Randolph Road and Kris Street to access Highway 10.

The next Highway 10 project update/public meeting for this construction season will be held Monday, Sept. 8, beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes City Hall.
