Frontage road construction continues

Crews will finish up pavement marking this week near the Canadian Pacific railroad bridge.

Permanent seeding will be placed in areas along the Highway 10 corridor.

The right lane of westbound Highway 10 between County Road 54 and Kris Street will close for two days to allow crews to work on the railroad signal retaining wall.

Frontage Road

Construction of the new frontage road (Frazee Street) continues between McKinley Avenue and East Shore Drive. Access to frontage road businesses will be maintained at all times.

Crews continue to place curb between McKinley Avenue and Jackson Avenue. Paving is scheduled to begin at the end of the week. Two lane two-way traffic is being maintained through this area.

The Corbett Avenue access to Highway 10 is closed to allow crews to complete the intersection with concrete paving. Motorists should follow the signed detour.

Curb placement continues between Corbett Road and East Shore Drive.

The frontage road between North Shore Drive and East Shore Drive is closed to motorists, bicycles and pedestrians. During this time crews will reconstruct the boat landing and overlook area, build two retaining walls between the frontage road and Big Detroit Lake, work on the new bike trail and construct the East Shore Drive/frontage road intersection. Motorists should use Highway 10 to get around the Big Detroit Lake.

McKinley Avenue

The intersection of Frazee Street the Frontage Road and McKinley Avenue remains closed. Curb placement continues this week.

Roosevelt Avenue

This intersection remains a four-way stop. Traffic signal system work continues this week. Paving and some sidewalk work is scheduled to start at the end of the week.

County Road 54

Crews widened the turning radius onto westbound Highway 10. The area is currently gravel. Paving of this surface is scheduled for sometime this week.

The next Highway 10 project public meeting is Monday, Sept. 8, beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes City Hall.
