Two Detroit Lakes residents die in crash on Highway 59

Two Detroit Lakes residents died Wednesday when a concrete truck and a 2005 Toyota Camry collided head-on on Highway 59, about nine miles south of Detroit Lakes, according to the Minnesota State Patrol

Robert L. Brolin, 88, was the driver of the 2005 Toyota Camry and the passenger was Gail E, Paulson, 60, his daughter. Both died at the scene.

The Camry collided with a 2004 concrete truck driven by Milton R. Beitz of Frazee, who suffered non life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The patrol did not release additional information about how the crash occurred. The collision occurred on dry pavement at about noon near mile marker 255.

In addition to the State Patrol, officers from the Detroit Lakes Police Department, Becker County Sheriff's Department and Otter Tail County Sheriff's Department, as well as firefighters and other emergency responders were at the scene.
