Highway 10 project: Most frontage road paving completed

With a majority of the project paving complete, finish crews will be working in areas throughout the project zone this week (placing topsoil, finishing sidewalks) and sign crews will be installing permanent signs throughout the project zone. Motorists should be aware of crews and equipment near roadways, and watch for intermittent lane closures along Highway 10.

Highway 10 mainline

Striping crews will be working on Highway 10 throughout the week. Motorists should watch for temporary lane closures in some sections of Highway 10.

Frontage Road

Crews completed paving operations between Frazee Street and North Shore Drive last week. Striping crews will apply pavement marking on the newly paved section of the frontage road this week.

The frontage road between North Shore Drive and East Shore Drive is closed to motorists, bicycles and pedestrians, and will remain closed into the month of October. Crews are finishing the boat landing, overlook area and two retaining walls between the frontage road and Big Detroit Lake, and paving the new bike path and frontage road.

Motorists should use Highway 10 to get around this area of the lake.

McKinley Avenue

McKinley Avenue/Holmes Street between Highway 10 and the frontage road is open.

Striping crews will apply pavement marking on the newly paved area this week.

Roosevelt Avenue

This intersection remains a four-way stop. After the concrete signal bases have cured, the traffic signal is scheduled to be functional by the end of the week.

The next Highway 10 project update/public meeting for this construction season will be held Monday, Oct. 13, beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes City Hall.
