Weather Forecast

Up to 5 inches of snow expected today

FARGO - The National Weather Service predicts 3 to 5 inches of snow today across parts of eastern North Dakota and west-central Minnesota.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. today for Cass, Grant, Richland, Steele and Traill counties in North Dakota and Clay, west Becker, Norman, Otter Tail and Wilkin counties in Minnesota.

A few fender-benders had been reported in the Fargo-Moorhead metro area as of 7:57 a.m., but none involved serious injuries, a dispatcher said.

Strengthening northerly winds may cause drifting snow this afternoon and evening, particularly across east-west highways, according to weather service forecasters in Grand Forks.

Visibility may be reduced to one-half mile or less at times in heavier snow bands.
