A rural Kindred, N.D., man died late Friday after getting trapped in a corn bin.

Lyndon Wayne Lee, 45, appeared to have been trying to fix a problem inside the bin when his leg got trapped while corn kept dropping in the bin, according to a Richland County Sheriff's Office news release.

Authorities were called around 7 p.m. to Lee's property, west and north of Walcott. Crews worked past 9 p.m.

Fire fighters eventually were able to open up the corn bin and get to Lee, but the man since had died.

The Walcott, Colfax, Davenport, Kindred, and Casselton fire departments as well as the Kindred Ambulance, F-M Ambulance, and the Richland County Sheriff's Office responded to the call.

Foul play is not suspected.
