FERGUS FALLS - Authorities are investigating a reported kidnapping at gunpoint in Fergus Falls tonight and are currently trying to locate both the suspect and 17-year-old victim.

Fergus Falls Police Chief Tim Brennan said the department received a report of a kidnapping about 7 p.m.

A witness told them that his 17-year-old stepsister Amy Rene Henning was abducted at gunpoint in the Westridge Mall parking lot by her stepfather, Brennan said.

The suspect has been identified as 46-year-old David Randy Sabby. He is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, roughly 205 pounds with blue eyes and a receding hairline, Brennan said.

"We believe he's armed with a handgun so we're concerned," Brennan said. The department does not have a history with Sabby, who is from Grant County, Minn., Brennan said.

There is a no contact order in place between Sabby and the girl.

Sabby displayed a handgun and gagged the girl's stepbrother, leaving him in the parking lot. "He got free," and called police, Brennan said.

Authorities do not have a vehicle description or destination at this time, Brennan said.
