Mother and child survive Grand Forks mobile home fire

GRAND FORKS- A mother and her young child escaped a mobile home fire this morning here.

The fire department received the call just after 10 a.m. to the 5200 block of Circle Drive South.

More than a dozens firefighters responded and had the blaze under control by 10:25 a.m., battalion chief Rod Hadland said.

The mother and her child were treated on the scene by Altru Ambulance, Hadland said. He did not know if they were injured.

At least one cat died in the fire.

Although much of the structure appeared intact, the extent of damage and cause of the fire were not immediately known.
