Moorhead man accused of choking 13-year-old girl
MOORHEAD - Prosecutors here have charged a 38-year-old man with felony assault after a 13-year-old girl reported he choked her and she "blanked out."
Ramon Rivera Alonzo Jr. is being held on $50,000 bail in connection with the April 22 incident. He is facing four felony charges, including third-degree assault, in Clay County District Court.
The girl told police that as Alonzo choked her, her feet were barely touching the floor. She said she "blanked out" and had no memory until she was lying on the floor, court documents state.
Alonzo, who has prior convictions for assault, is known to the girl, court documents state.
His next court date is May 7.
