Old Timers Dance

The Old Timers Dance Club hosts a dance from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Rockin' Horse, Richville, with Julie Lee playing.

Tulaby Lake Assn. picnic

The Tulaby Lake Assn. annual picnic is at 12:30 p.m. at the Elbow/Tulaby Fire Hall. Hot dogs, condiments and pop will be furnished. All are asked to bring a large covered dish and their own service, silverware and glassware. Following the meal, a business meeting will be held and election of 4 officers. Water quality will be the main topic.

Tamarac History Tour

A Discovering Tamarac History Tour is from 1 to 4 p.m. Take a journey into Tamarac's past. Before the refuge was established, this landscape was extensively settled. Who were these folks? Where did they live and how did they survive in this wilderness? Learn about their significance to the refuge and more. Meet at the visitor center for a presentation and then caravan to several post-colonial historical sites. Wear sturdy shoes (some walking on uneven ground) and bring your stories to tell.

'Planet Earth' movie

Tamarac Wildlife Refuge presents the movie "Planet Earth -- Seasonal Forests" at 2 p.m. Investigate temperate regions and find some of the most elusive creatures and well-adapted plant life on earth. From the giant sequoia to the Siberian forests, "Forests" brings to life a seemingly familiar world that remains largely unexplored.

Alpha Phi luncheon

LPA fall activities night

Lake Park-Audubon fall activities night is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the high school gym. All students grades 7-12 joining athletics must be in attendance. All students should have a current physical on file. For more info, call 238-5914.

Lakeview Ladies golf

Tuesdays in the Park

The Purple Pan Steel Drum Band performs at 7 p.m. in the DL Bandshell. It is a free show, a part of the Tuesdays in the Park summer series. Before each Tuesday's concert, Thrivent Builds for Habitat will also have a picnic fund-raiser, grilling up fresh burgers and brats for sale at the shelter near the bandshell from 6 to 7 p.m.

Bone Builders

Bone Builders Exercise program every Tuesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to noon in the DL Senior Center. Good exercises for osteoporosis prevention and bone strengthening. For more info, call 847-5823.

Used book sale

The Becker County Friends of the Library hosts the Annual Used Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes Library. A variety of books will be for sale including fiction, nonfiction, children's books and cookbooks as well as a selection of CDs and DVDs. All proceeds benefit Detroit Lakes Library programming and activities.

High Mileage Club

High Mileage Club meets at noon with a pot-blessing meal in the Community Alliance Church. This is an inter denominational fellowship for those 55 and over. There will singing, special music and a Bible nugget.

eBay class

Come into Detroit Lakes Library from 3 to 4 p.m. to learn how to get the most value out of new and used items by buying and selling on eBay. Basic mouse and computer skills are required to get the most out of this class. Class size is limited to six, please call the Library at 847-2168 to reserve your spot.
