More options than ever for local viewing of Olympics

The Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada are right around the corner and there are more options than ever for watching the games.

NBC will be televising 835 hours of coverage spread out over five networks -- NBC, USA, Bravo, MSNBC and CNBC.

Another 400 hours of coverage will be available at All televised events will also be available via delay on the Web.

There is a catch, as the Internet coverage is limited to cable and satellite TV subscribers of participating companies.

Locally, viewers are in luck, as Arvig Communications Systems, DirecTV and Dish Network reached a deal with NBC Universal to allow their customers to watch the Games.

Internet coverage will work on Windows and Apple computers connected to high-speed Internet. All viewers need to have on their computers is Microsoft's Silverlight program.

com will prompt viewers to install it.

Those without cable or satellite are limited to watching highlights of events.
