Welcome back John!

• Mark Holm, Head Professional at Detroit Country Club aced the 14th hole on April 1, on the opening day of the spring at D.C.C. Holm recorded his third hole in one of his golfing career with a 7 iron. Witnesses to his ace were Tom Hanson, Pete Lloyd and Pat Kenney. Congratulations Mark!

• The weather (torrential rain and lightning) we've experienced at the Pine to Palm in 2010 reminds the players, fans and the committee of 1999. In the year before the next millennium, 540 golfers were registered for the Pine to Palm (still the record for most players in 78 years of the P to P). We had 18 hole qualifying instead of 36 and most matches were 9 holes on Thursday. Wednesday's entire round was rained out and Friday was cold and windy to make conditions tough for the second round of match play. Let's hope for sunshine today through Sunday.
