All are back for Raider boys' golf team
There won't be much change on the Lake Park-Audubon boys' golf team this season and that is a good thing.
The Raiders return all their players from last year's squad, along with all the experience they gained.
The one big change is also positive, as LP-A will now play in the Pine to Prairie Conference, which will be against schools their own size.
"The kids are excited about the new conference," said LP-A head boys' golf coach Nicole Seyfried. "We are hoping to do better in this conference against school our size."
LP-A enters the season with freshman Dalton Kohler as their top golfer, after he had a consistent and solid year in 2010.
Others who return with varsity experience include Beau Svobodny, seniors Eric Zachariason, Derek Braseth, Mason Nelson, freshman Isiah Pearson and Elijah Beaudine.
"We'll have good depth with a few other new golfers in the mix and will have playoffs in practice for varsity," Seyfried said. "That will make them work that much harder in practice."
With the depth being deeper and the experience better, expectations are higher this year.
"We are hoping to do better in the conference and see a couple of our golfers qualify for sections," the LP-A coach said. "As a team, we want to be shooting around bogey golf and just be consistent."
The LP-A Invite will be at Forest Hills Golf Course May 10.
