Area colleges offer robotics camps this summer

Two area colleges are offering robotics camps for high schoolers this summer.

Bemidji State University offers a camp for 7-12 graders on July 15-20.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston offers a three-day camp in August for students.

Students in grades 7-12 with a passion for science, technology, engineering and math can explore the world of robotics at the 360° VEX Robotics Camp 2012, held July 15-20 at Bemidji State University.

Registration for the VEX Robotics Camp is $250, which includes lodging, food, all materials for the camp and activities scheduled by camp staff during the evenings. Registration and fees are due to 360° by Friday, June 15. An information packet will be sent to registered campers prior to the camp's start date with specific information.

U of M, Crookston

The University of Minnesota, Crookston campus will hold its third annual summer Robotics Camp from Monday through Wednesday, August 6-8, 2012.

The three-day camp is geared for students between the ages of 9-14 and runs from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. The cost for the camp is $80 and it will take place in Evergreen Hall on the Crookston campus. Students should bring a bag lunch for the first two days. Lunch will be provided for them on the last day. The camp is limited to 30 participants.
