Whether it's rain or shine, the DLCCC has a show, fitness class or fun activity guaranteed to fit the wants and needs of everyone in your family. And this summer, we'll be celebrating the one-year anniversary of "The Backyard," our new addition, housing the second largest indoor playland in Minnesota!

Historic Holmes Theatre

The summer concert series, Tuesdays in the Park, featuring the best in area talent, continues each Tuesday night through Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. in the DL City Park Bandshell.

August acts include:

Aug. 7: Purple Pan Steel Drum Band

Aug. 14: Folk Singer Mark Fogelson

Aug. 21: Doc & the Scrubs

Aug. 28: Lakes Area Community Concert Band

Bring your appetite and come early from 6-7 p.m. each Tuesday as Habitat for Humanity holds a freewill picnic dinner.

Newly added show: Monroe Crossing will be back in Detroit Lakes on Thursday, Aug. 9, at 7:30 p.m. They've been called "the best in bluegrass and the best in entertainment!" Their laid-back "folkgrass" approach respects the musical principles laid down by Bill Monroe, "The Father of Bluegrass Music."

They will dazzle the audience with an electrifying blend of classic bluegrass, bluegrass gospel and heartfelt originals. Back this year is Youth Theatre Camp with Alice Hunter, Monday- Wednesday, Aug. 20-22, as they present local playwright Carol Anne Hough's "Garden Adventures." This intensive camp teaches ages 6-12 all they need to know (and make!) about the artistry and craft of producing a theatrical show that the kids will get to present on the Holmes Theatre stage for family, friend and you!

More chanced to let the creativity flow abound at the Holmes as The Glass Lady presents Craft Camp, Aug. 27-29, from 9-11 a.m. Work on super fun projects and let your artsy side take over!

Watch for our 2012-13 season book coming late summer with more chances to "Step Inside and See the World." From more World Fest groups to local theatre and one-of-a-kind tribute shows, we've got a show for you!

Fitness Center

The DLCCC also has hundreds of pieces of weight equipment, cardio machines, an eight-lane pool, a three-lane running track, two basketball courts, two racquetball courts and a 140 foot waterslide also, plus so much more.
