There's a weekend dedicated to steam and other old-time engines -- Labor Day weekend in Rollag, for the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion.

Daily pass for the reunion is $12, the season pass is $20, primitive camping for all four days is $35 and kids age 14 and under have free admission.

Gates open at 6 a.m., and breakfast is available at 6:30 a.m. at church stands.

Included in the admission are evening programs and musical entertain-ment; rides on the full size train, which runs one mile around the show grounds; rides on the little train, Ortner Railroad; rides on the vintage merry-go-round; and shuttle wagons to ride around the large show area.

In past years, some of the entertainment has included parades, a vin-tage style show, steam and gas threshing demonstrations, ladies' activities, square dancing, live music and more.

There are also food stands selling "thresher-man's homestyle meals" and many other things, from apples to ice cream.

An Honorary Steam Queen will be named during the weekend as well, and there's a "Spark Show" where steam engines are made to give off showers of sparks.

There's also Catholic mass and an all-faith worship service.

No unauthorized vehicles are allowed on the show grounds, including ATVs and golf carts. Dogs are also prohibited unless they are required for medical reasons.
