State trip is goal of Frazee Fly Girls

The Frazee Fly Girls have high expectations for the 2012-13 season, as the goal of qualifying both their Jazz and High Kick teams for state.

For the 2012-13 season, the Flyer Girls will be sporting new costumes for both Jazz and High Kick.

Jazz music "Made For You" and High Kick is "Royal Queen".

With the new routines being practiced, motivation is high in Frazee.

"We have a young group of driven dancers," said Frazee head dance coach Theresa Fett. "Our goal is to get to state with both Jazz and High Kick."

Captains Tiffany Huwe, Laura Pihlaja and Taylor Reetz are also the top three ranked students in their class with 4.0, 4.0, and 3.99, respectively.

"I think they are the most driven leaders I have had the privilege to work with over the years," Fett said. "They all bring that drive and perfectionism to rehearsals and influence their team to strive for the top. They have been exceptional leaders."

The bar is set high, too. Frazee was fourth in State last year in Jazz and that experience and talent is back this year.

"They are ready to break into that top three in the state," Fett added. "My high kick team just missed the opportunity last year to get to state. They want that opportunity with a passion."

Fett noted the key is passion for dance, love of performance and competition, prepared coaches and a united team.

The Frazee junior varsity team is led by new JV coach, Lindsey Seawell.

"Lindsey has really prepared these girls for competition, pushing them to work towards improving skills so they can eventually move up to the Varsity level in the future," Fett said. "She has a great balance of working on skills and routines, while keeping it fun for the dancers. Lindsey has been a great addition to our coaching staff."
