Meadows on Lind open house

Meadows on Lind, 11463 US Highway 59, DL, hosts open house from 5-8 p.m.  There will be wine, appetizers and s’mores by the fire.  People can check out the new expansion and updates to the pavilion.

Xyngular meeting

Xyngular Corporation President Marc Walker is the keynote speaker at the Regional Xyngular meeting in Holiday Inn, Detroit Lakes.  Registration begins at 6 p.m., with a meeting from 6:30 to 8:30. This informational meeting is open to the public.

Talk of the Town

Larry D. Bergsgaard, author and retired Special Agent with the U.S. Treasury Dept. & the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, speaks during Talk of the Town at 9 a.m. in the Cormorant Community Center. Come for free coffee, cookies and conversation.

Tekiela speaks

As a kick-off event to the North Country Trail grand opening, Stan Tekiela, Minnesota naturalist, author, and nature photographer, gives a presentation at 7 p.m. in the Frazee High School gymnasium.

North Country Trail grand opening

The North Country Trail grand opening celebration in Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge begins with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. at the Pine Lake Boat Access on County Road 29, 6 miles east of State Hwy 34. There will be hikes and activities throughout the day.

Royalty send-off

A send-off for Miss Frazee, Miss Northwest, Miss Perham, Miss Heart of the Lakes, Miss Moorhead and Miss Grand Cities is at 2 p.m. in the Frazee Event Center. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Waters of Grace event

Waters of Grace, an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America worshipping in Frazee, hosts Bishop Larry Wohlrabe of the Northwestern Minnesota Synod (ELCA) as their guest preacher at the 9:30 a.m. worship service in the Frazee Event Center.  During worship, Bishop Larry will also be commissioning local resident, Laurie Albertson, as the Synodically Authorized Minister (SAM) and new pastoral leader for Waters of Grace. Refreshments and fellowship will immediately follow.  Everyone is welcome.

High Mileage Fellowship

High Mileage Fellowship meets the first Tuesday of each month in Community Alliance Church, DL. There is a pot-blessing meal at noon, followed by a time of sharing birthdays and anniversaries, a Bible Nugget and special music. This is an inter-denominational fellowship for all those 55 and over.

Overeaters Anonymous, Serenity Group

Overeaters Anonymous Detroit Lakes Serenity Group meets Tuesdays at noon in the second floor library of the First Lutheran Church.

Shoreham Chapel

Historic Shoreham Chapel, non-denominational, between Lake Melissa and Lake Sallie, holds services June 9-Sept. 1 at 10:45 a.m. It is open to the public. Coffee and refreshments follow the service. Dan Danielson, director of New Life Center in Fargo, and Rev. Tim Cook, Chaplain of St. Mary’s Hospital in DL, will be officiating at different times. Kathie Brekke and the apostles Blues Band will perform at the opening service.

7th Day Adventist VBS

Trinity Lutheran Church, DL, and Pathways Ministries of Northwest Minnesota host Vacation Bible School June 24-27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for ages kindergarten through sixth grade. Tuesdays in the Park

Habitat for Humanity will serve hamburgers, hot dogs and brats along with sides, each Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the DL City Park before the Tuesdays in the Park band concerts in the Bandshell. It is a freewill offering. Concerts then start at 7. Bring a lawn chair. Lake Park Class of 1953

The Lakes Area Farmers Market is Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Peoples Park.
