Driver injured in rollover near Alexandria Sunday

A 19-year old man from Waverly was injured in a one-vehicle rollover south of Alexandria Sunday night.

Alexander Bersie was driving a 2001 Ford on Highway 29 near Brush Wolf Road at 9:39 p.m. when it veered off the right side of the road and rolled, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The vehicle landed on the driver's side.

Bersie, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital.

The Alexandria Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
