Two hurt when pickups collide at highway speed near Perham
An Osage man and a New York Mills man were both injured when one Chevy Silverado rear-ended another on Highway 10 Friday afternoon near Perham.
Paul E. Myllykangas, 29, of Osage and Olaf C. Hetland, 21, of New York Mills both suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Both men were eastbound on Highway 10. Hetland was driving a 2011 Chevy Silverado pickup truck and Myllykangas was driving a 2006 Chevy Silverado.
Hetland’s truck rear-ended Myllykangas’ truck at highway speed, causing Myllykangas’ truck and an attached trailer to roll into the ditch.
Myllykangas was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred about 3 p.m. Friday at the junction of Otter Tail County Road 80 and Highway 10, on dry four-lane blacktop at milepost 68. The Perham Police Department assisted at the scene.
