Two people were hurt Thursday in a rear-end collision on Highway 59 and County Road 6 in Mahnomen County.
According to the State Patrol, Mark Elliot Kjos, 47, of Waubun suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
Mika May Stone, 21, of Naytahwaush also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Mahnomen hospital.
Stone was driving a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country minivan southbound on Highway 59, and had stopped to turn eastbound on County Road 6.
Her van was rear-ended by a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Kjos. Airbags deployed in both vehicles. Stone was wearing a seatbelt, Kjos was not. No alcohol was involved, according to the State Patrol.
The crash was reported at 7:01 p.m. on dry pavement in Pembina Township. The Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office and White Earth Tribal Police Department assisted at the scene.
