DETROIT LAKES - The following items were taken from reports at the Becker County Sheriff's Department and Detroit Lakes Police Department.

Friday, Jan. 25

• At 3:59 a.m. gang graffiti in red and white paint was reported near a dumpster at the Northside bar.

• At 2:14 p.m. Iowa Trenchless (a boring and tunneling company based in Panora, Iowa) reported the theft of seven 24-inch, 20-foot-long blue American brand augers, valued at about $24,000.

The augers were taken from semi trailers from a job site below the Highway 59 bridge in Detroit Lakes. The theft occurred between July 31 and Sept. 18.

• At 3:49 p.m. an Ogema woman reported that a known man hit her with his car on the 36000 block of County Road 34.

• At 5:08 p.m. a Callaway man reported a burglary that had occurred within the last half hour. Taken were a 42-inch flat screen TV, a Sanyo VCR/TV, a Dish Network receiver and a Yamaha home theater surround-sound system.

• At 9:40 p.m. a woman on the 500 block of Oak Street reported a smell like burning plastic. No fire was found, but residents were cautioned about a possible electrical problem.

• At 10:30 p.m. Wal-Mart requested an extra patrol after the third time employees chased away a man in a light blue pickup truck from the dumpster area.

Saturday, Jan. 26

• At 12:28 a.m. officers responded to the Northside bar to help a woman who had been jumped by three other women.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to jail. The other two attackers, age 43 and 54, were very intoxicated, as was the victim, who suffered a large bruise under one eye, but was unaware of it and wanted no action taken by police.

• At 12:27 a.m. an officer was requested at the Northside bar, where a 35-year-old man was arrested on multiple warrants.

• At 1:37 a.m. officers were called to the Northside bar to check out a car idling with a person in the driver's seat. A 29-year-old man was arrested for second-degree DWI.

• At 9:57 a.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported a fish house broken into on the north side of Lake Melissa.

• At 11:15 a.m. a woman on the 1200 block of Eighth Street reported that someone had tried to break in through her front door. Several Budweiser light beer cans were left in the yard.

• At 5:56 p.m. a resident on South Shore Drive reported a newspaper mailbox had been set on fire. Several minutes later another resident in the area reported another newspaper box fire.

Sunday, Jan. 27

• At 6:28 a.m. a woman on the 1300 block of Lake Avenue reported that the neighbor's dog charged at her husband when he tried to leave the house. An officer told the neighbors to control their dog.

• At 1:01 p.m. the M&W convenience store in Ogema reported a theft.

Monday, Jan. 28

• At 3:32 p.m. red and blue painted graffiti was reported in the vicinity of the Detroit Lakes Library.
