The following items were taken from reports at the Detroit Lakes Police Department and the Becker County Sheriff's Department.
Tuesday, Aug. 25
At 7:39 p.m. a woman reported that young people at City Park in Detroit Lakes were standing in the roadway, yelling and swearing, and would not let her leave. An officer located a large group gathered near parked vehicles and advised them of the complaint. The group was argumentative and he advised them to leave, which they did without incident.
Wednesday, Aug. 26
At 12:38 a.m. a man reported an assault in the 16000 block of Sharon Ave. in Detroit Lakes.
At 9:19 a.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported a burglary on the 23000 block of South Melissa Drive.
At 2:43 p.m. a Detroit Lakes woman reported her neighbor's lake cabin had been broken into on the 12000 block of Fern Beach Road in Lakeview Township.
At 3:53 p.m. a burglary was reported on the 23000 block of South Melissa Drive.
At 6:36 p.m. an Osage woman reported a homeowner threatened her at the door with a knife and other household items. Two deputies were at the scene for about 30 minutes.
At 6:27 p.m. a house burglary was reported on the 23000 block of South Melissa Drive.
At 7:22 p.m. an assault victim from the Pine Point area was reported by St. Joseph's emergency room in Park Rapids.
At 10:12 p.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported tires were slashed on a Dodge Intrepid parked overnight on the 28000 block of Paula Street, Detroit Lakes.
Thursday, Aug. 27
At 1:25 a.m. a White Earth man reported that someone may have shot at him. Four tribal police officers were on the scene for several hours.
At 8:03 a.m. Security Storage reported paint vandalism and garbage left lying around on site.
At 11:06 a.m. a Frazee man reported a suspected sexual assault.
At 1:12 p.m. a bicycle theft was reported on the 200 block of Summit Avenue.
At 3:38 p.m. vandalism was reported to the back steps area of the Washington Square Mall. Two young men, ages 18 and 19, had spray-painted the younger man's legs black, and some of that paint was left on the steps where he was sitting. The letters DX were also painted there. The two were cited for criminal damage to property.
Friday, Aug. 28
At 12:05 a.m. a man fell off his bicycle in the parking lot behind DL Newspapers. His face was bloody and he appeared intoxicated. A police officer assisted the EMS crew on the scene. The officer noted the man was involved in a later incident in which he was arrested for disorderly conduct and fourth-degree assault.
At 3:09 a.m. a vehicle was reported in the ditch on Highway 10 East near Yards & More. A 25-year-old man there was cited for disorderly conduct.
At 6:53 a.m. a Henning man reported the theft of 26 treated poles and a pallet of lumber, stolen from the 14000 block of County Road 43, Frazee.
