UND student hit by a car, suffers only small cuts
GRAND FORKS -- A college student was struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon near campus, but the UND Police Department said the man suffered only minor injuries from the incident.
Shortly before 3 p.m., the man was crossing Columbia Road from west to east as a vehicle driven by another UND student was making a left-hand turn onto Columbia from Second Avenue North.
The pedestrian was hit by the vehicle, rolled onto the hood and hit the windshield. Patrolman Keith Myers said he thought there would be serious injuries as he first got to the scene, but the man suffered only small cuts to his face.
"I was figuring there was going to possibly be more injury from looking at the vehicle," he said, adding the impact "took out" the windshield.
